This is one of the 5 greatest matches of this decade. Pure violent old school storytelling at its greatest with AJ fighting for his life as the underdog against the relentless beast Abyss and looking like he is going to lose but he keeps fighting back. AJ sold like a champ and Abyss what at his best which makes you miss the monster version more instead of the lame one on Spike TV. The storytelling is so good that even the smarks can suspend disbelief and get into the match. Why TNA has dropped the ball on AJ Styles to give lazy unmotivated geezers like Booker T and Sting pushes no one knows but watching this really makes you miss the TNA that wasnt obsessed with being WWE lite but being a great wrestling company and a different one at that.

Great match. AJ Styles should be the face of TNA right now and this match is one of the reasons why.

and someone is probably going to disagree and make fun of me. That's all that happens on this site anyway.

Now this is exactly why TNA is a much better show than the E. Epic match no doubt. Totally awsome! AJ is da man. Everyone should just be open to TNA and still watch the E its all good! I do have to say TNA is climbing up there in such a short period of time ...I gotta see that match again.Go TNA #1..

AJ in 2005 was almost as good as HBK in 1996 (in ring wise)

The first minute or so of that match (the leap through the cage door up to AJ sliding under the barrier and jumping off of it) is pretty much my favorite opening to any match ever. The have been many better matches, but I can't think of two many that started off with such a bang.

"Now this is exactly why TNA is a much better show than the E."
Why ? WWE have had countless better matches than this in this decade.

I really don't mean for this to sound like complaining, but did TNA buy a share in 411 or something? What's with all the TNA videos lately? I'm quite capable of using YouTube myself, thanks.
2005 TNA makes me happy, though.

I remember when Batista said something to the effect of "AJ Styles is nothing but a glorified spot monkey who doesn't know how to tell a story."
I wonder if he has seen this?
